The wines

Four labels from two grapes and one hill. Each sheet has the technical data.

  • Millecolli — Barbera d'Asti DOCG. 100% Barbera from twenty-year-old vines, spontaneous fermentation in steel. First vintage 2022.
  • Madonna dei Monti — Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG. Indigenous yeasts, eighteen months in barrique. First vintage 2022.
  • Giglio Rosa — still rosé, 100% Barbera, gentle pressing, indigenous yeasts in steel. First vintage 2022.
  • Névola — rosé from Nebbiolo, steel, no fining and no filtration. First vintage 2024.

All four on one page: our wines.

Why Monferrato

When people think of Piedmont they think of the Langhe and Barolo. Monferrato is the hill country to the north-east, between Asti and Casale, and it is the home of Barbera. Our hill has a sharp temperature range, steady wind and cool nights even in summer: the wines come out taut, with the vintage written inside. More in territory, climate and terroir and Barbera d'Asti vs Barbera d'Alba.

What "natural" means here

Natural wine has no legal definition. For us it means organic grapes, hand picked, and a fermentation that starts on its own, with the yeasts that come from the vineyard. For the differences between natural, organic and biodynamic, read natural, organic or biodynamic; on our cellar choices, read spontaneous fermentation and why we use indigenous yeasts.
